From Atlanta, Georgia, the Griswolds will take the main stage on Saturday as a headlining act! An eclectic acoustic group whose sound is defined by the incorporation of a wide variety of msical styles and instrumentation or “folkabillyjazzamegrooverock” is how they describe their music. The Griswolds have been together for four and a half years, have two albums out on Dog Driver Records and have toured extensively throughout the East Coast.
Their high energy sound and diverse instrumentation set them apart from other acts on the circuit and their versatility allows them to perform in a wide variety of settings. They have performed in an equally diverse range of venues from blues bars and jazz clubs to folk festivals and block parties, from alternative clubs and coffee houses to colleges and even an opera house. Multi-instrumentalist Beth Heidelberg uses sax, flute, recorder, penny & tin whistle, clarinet and melodica to help create The Griswolds eclectic sound.
Her diverse instrumentation not only brings the music to life, but also provides an exciting visual element to the band’s live performances. Their captivating shows have made them one of the hottest acts on the southeastern festival circuit, making dozens of festival appearances each year. Combined with their club and college dates, they are rapidly becoming one of the most talked about bands in the southeast.
This exciting band has performed with the likes of Atlanta Rhythm Section, Rick Derringer, The Guess Who, Edwin McCain, Lorrie Morgan, Lee Roy Parnell, Tony Rice, and Doug Supernaw. They have performed at such North Carolina festivals as Park Rhythms in Black Mountain, St. Patrick’s Day Festival in Emerald Isle, Farmville Dogwood Festival in Farmville, Spring Fair in Fayetteville, Music by the Lake in Flat Rock, and the Fabulous 4th Celebration in Hendersonville. We welcome them to the Stokes Stomp, Festical on the Dan!
