Todd Mack seems to be a musician without a label. Throughout his bio there are references to folk, rock ‘n’, and songwriting. His music really does encompass all three elements, but I think it can be best described as traditional folk. This sets him apart stylistically from what most people have come to expect from Atlanta's acoustic scene. Mack concentrates more on the telling of stories in his songs rather than the expressing of some repressed emotion. He has just released an independent CD entitled Looking for Leon that hit the stores last month. It contains 12 original songs that Mack recorded in his living room, with the help of Blair Lott.
He then took the tape to Ardent Studios in Memphis to add mastering touches. Check out Todd’s live performance at a Turtle’s Rhythm & Views in-store April 19, and if you’re impressed, pick up his new CD. Local artists often count on your support to help keep the roof over their heads.
